Free .cube LUT for night city streets and urban vlogs. Cool shadows, warm street lamps held. Works in Premiere, Resolve, Final Cut and CapCut
Download FREEFree single .cube LUT for night city streets, urban vlogs and neon-lit exteriors. Cool blue-cyan shadows. Warm street lamps and practicals held. Mild desaturation for night mood. Built as a Rec.709 creative grade for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and CapCut.
Night street footage is easy to crush. Phone auto exposure lifts faces and kills the mood. A heavy teal cinematic LUT can push wet asphalt into pure cyan and turn skin under a sodium lamp green. This free LUT is built for the opposite job. It cools the shadows and midtones just enough to read as night, keeps warm practicals from turning grey, and pulls overall saturation down so the frame feels like a city at night rather than a daytime grade with the brightness dropped.
One free .cube file. Apply after you convert log footage to Rec.709. Use full strength on medium night exteriors. Dial intensity down when a face sits under a strong warm practical or neon sign. Works in Premiere, Resolve, Final Cut and CapCut.
The grade starts with a soft contrast curve so night footage does not crush into pure black. Shadows and midtones pick up a blue-cyan bias so the street reads as night rather than underexposed day. Overall saturation drops a little so neon and LED signs do not scream against the rest of the frame.
Warm practicals get a protection step. Street lamps, shop windows and orange sodium lights stay warmer than the cooled midtones. Without that step, a night grade often turns every light source the same cool colour and the city looks flat.
Deep shadows get a mild lift so phone and mirrorless footage shot at high ISO does not fall into a black hole. It is still a night look. It is not a daylight recovery tool.
It is not a full cyberpunk neon pack. It is not a bleach bypass war film look. It is a practical everyday night street grade for vlogs, travel night walks and urban b-roll.
Open Lumetri Color. Go to Creative. Click Browse under Look and select the .cube file. Use the Intensity slider if a face under a warm lamp goes too cool. For log footage, convert in Basic Correction first, then park this LUT in Creative.

Copy the .cube into your LUT folder. Refresh. Apply on the Color page after any technical conversion node. Keep exposure and white balance honest before the creative LUT. A soft power window on a face under a strong practical can hold skin without changing the street.

Apply the Custom LUT effect. Load the file in the Inspector. Use Mix to control strength per shot.
Adjust, Filter, Custom. Import the .cube. Useful for fast night Shorts and Reels that still need a cool street mood.
Use this LUT when the main subject is a night exterior. City walks. Night markets. Street food at night. Neon alleys. Rain-wet asphalt. Night drive b-roll from a car window. Urban vlog outros after dark.
Skip it when the hero is a daylight landscape, a studio talking head, a clean real estate interior, or a full cyberpunk music video. Those jobs need different free or Pro packs on Free LUTs and Premium LUTs.
Balance exposure and white balance first. A LUT on crushed underexposed night footage will look muddy. Convert S-Log, C-Log or V-Log to a Rec.709 base, then add this file as the creative step.
Check a wide street shot and a medium shot of a person under a lamp. Full strength usually works on the wide. On the medium, drop intensity if the face goes too cyan.
Match shots in the same night sequence before you judge the LUT. A phone shot under LED and a mirrorless shot under sodium will still need a balance pass. The LUT will not fix mixed colour temperature on its own.
Real street lighting works best. Sodium, LED shop fronts, neon signs and car headlights all give the protection step something to hold. Pure moonlight with no practicals will still cool, but the frame can feel empty.
If you shoot with a strong on-camera light on a face, expose for the face and let the background fall. The mild shadow lift will open the street a little. It will not turn a black alley into day.
Rain and wet asphalt help. Specular highlights on the road give the cool midtones something to play against. Dry matte asphalt still works. The grade just reads a bit flatter.
The same .cube works on 9:16 timelines. Faces sit larger in frame on Shorts, so cool skin shows faster. Start at 70 to 80 percent intensity on vertical close-ups under lamps. Full strength is often better on a wide 16:9 night street.
Platform compression on YouTube Shorts and Reels can crush subtle cyan in the shadows. Export a test Short and view it on a phone before you lock a series grade. If the street goes flat after upload, raise midtone contrast slightly in the NLE after the LUT rather than stacking a second LUT.
This is one free file. Pro packs on FreeVisuals are larger sets with multiple styles and strengths. Travel Documentary, Fashion and Beauty Editorial, Real Estate Architecture and the Food and Cafe Mega pack live on Pro assets and on the Premium LUTs hub. Those unlock with Single Pass, Monthly or Yearly.
Use this free LUT for everyday night street work. Step up to a Pro pack when a series needs a stronger, consistent look across many night episodes or mixed day and night travel.
Night street grades sit under titles and end cards. Free YouTube Nameplate and Pro Vertical Stories Titles both work after this grade. Apply the LUT on the picture track, then drop titles above.
Music under a night walk: Artlist or Epidemic Sound. Keep beds low under speech if there is a host on camera.
Need a wider creative library after this free file: Envato, Motion Array or MotionVFX. Those are affiliate. This free download does not unlock them.
Store the ZIP once on your drive. Do not re-download a new copy every upload. Convert log, balance the hero frame, apply the LUT, then copy the grade across the night clips. Change only exposure per shot if the host walks from a dark alley into a bright shop front.
Batch one night walk. Grade a wide and a medium once. Reuse the same node or Lumetri instance for the next episode so the channel does not change night mood every week.
If you later add a Pro travel or cyberpunk pack for stylised night music videos, keep this free LUT on the everyday vlog night walks. Different jobs. Different grades.
Do not use it as a daylight city grade. Do not use it as a studio interview grade. Do not use it as a full neon cyberpunk music video look. Those needs sit on other free files or on Pro packs.
If your channel is mostly day travel with a short night outro, grade the day with a travel or tropical LUT and grade the night outro with this file. One LUT across both will make either the day or the night compromise.
